Acceptance of Terms

By booking a round of golf at The Sands Torquay, whether online, by telephone, or in person, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable Club rules and policies. These Terms apply to all members of the public wishing to book and play at The Sands.

Bookings

• Bookings may be made via our website, through the MiClub system, or by contacting the Pro Shop directly.
  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by The Sands Torquay.
  • The Club reserves the right to amend or cancel tee times in the event of adverse weather, course maintenance, or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, reasonable alternatives will be offered.
  • If you are unable to attend, we ask that you notify the Pro Shop at your earliest convenience so your booking can be released to others.

Conditions of Play

• Dress Code: Golf attire is required, including collared shirts. Denim and other non-golf apparel are not permitted.
  • Etiquette: All players are expected to respect the rules of golf and the pace of play. Players must comply with directions from Club staff at all times.
  • Course Rules: Players are required to observe all signage, cart usage restrictions, and local rules. Motorised carts must be operated responsibly.
  • Health & Safety: Golf involves inherent risks. By playing at The Sands, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk. The Club accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage except where caused by negligence on the part of the Club.
  • Property Damage: Players are responsible for any damage caused to property, equipment, or neighbouring residences as a result of their actions.

Privacy Policy

The Sands Torquay Golf Club is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988. The Act contains National Privacy Principles that set standards for the handling of personal information.

• Collection: Personal information such as your name, address, contact details, and date of birth may be collected when you make a booking or otherwise engage with the Club.
• Use: Your information will be used to manage bookings, provide services, and communicate with you. It may also be used for marketing purposes to keep you informed about services, new offerings, and promotions. If you do not wish to receive such information, the Club will remove your details from mailing lists upon request.
• Disclosure: The Club does not usually disclose your personal information to third parties unless legally required. However, personal information may be disclosed to service providers engaged by the Club, provided those parties are bound by confidentiality obligations. Disclosure may also occur to protect life, health, or safety, or as part of lawful investigations.
